Chain of Hope saved Little Heroes in Uganda

Sep. 06, 2019

From the 2nd to the 6th of September, the children’s cardiac charity Chain of Hope performed 19 life-saving cardiac procedures on children born in Uganda with heart diseases. Thanks to the highly skilled international volunteer medical team who conducted these operations, all of these little heroes are now living healthier lives.

Abbott’s Little Heroes Campaign has supported these heart procedures in Uganda, performed by Chain of Hope, by providing life-changing technologies.

Little Vivian was born with a rare heart disease which was causing her heart to work harder than normal. Her heart was mended, after which she recovered quickly.

Young Paul is finding comfort in his father’s arms before his cardiac operation.
Paul was born with a rare type of heart disease called, Truncus Arteriosus which means he only has one main blood vessel carrying blood to his heart, rather than the normal two.
